Metal battens

Metal battens are often used underneath existing structures of buildings to fix plasterboard sheets to. The is done for several reasons:

• To laser level substrate for the new ceiling rather than follow the inprecision of the buildings larger structures
• To minimize risk of plasterboard cracking due the thermal expansion and contraction of timber
• To reduce the amounts of timber required in the structure and save cost

Metal battens can be installed on laser levelled clips directly onto existing structure or suspended entirely on wires. The same system can be used to build bulkheads and other fancy structures in the ceilings
